AIXTRON’s new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia
We are building a new greenfield manufacturing and engineering hub in Batu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & test of our high-end systems and will contribute to engineering the next generation of products. Operations are planned to start in 2027 with rapid ramp-up. Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics
- Oversee timely receipt of raw materials, components and packaging from local and international suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to align delivery schedule with production plans.
- Ensure timely customs clearance, quarantine/inspection processes and compliance with Malaysian regulations
- Optimize freight cost and transportation efficiency.
- Monitor inbound delivery adherence vs. plan and drive recovery actions.
- Manage inbound prioritization (e.g., critical materials, line-down risk).
- Optimize inbound consolidation strategies and Incoterms utilization.
Outbound Logistics
- Plan and execute finished goods dispatch and distribution to customers (export and domestic)
- Ensure on-time delivery performance while controlling freight costs by optimizing local and international shipping arrangements.
- Ensure proper export documentation and trade compliance
- Ensure customer delivery requirements (OTIF, documentation accuracy) are consistently met.
- Align shipping priorities with customer demand and business commitments.
LMW License and Compliance
- Act as the appointed responsible person for LMW compliance with full accountability.
- Establish and maintain internal controls for bonded warehouse operations.
- Lead or co-lead LMW license application, renewal, and expansion if required.
- Manage bonded inventory control and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of duty-exempt materials and finished goods.
- Prepare required customs reports and documentation for audits and inspection by authorities.
- Ensure zero non-compliance incidents and maintain audit readiness at all times.
Warehouse & Material Circulation to Shopfloor
- Lead warehouse operations including raw material, WIP, finished goods, and consumables.
- Design and implement efficient material flow from warehouse to production lines.
- Ensure execution of material flow in line with material and production plans,
- Escalate execution risks impacting production to Planning teams,
- Optimize space utilization, layout, material handling equipment and tools.
Inventory Management
- Follow inventory policy to maintain optimal inventory levels balancing working capital.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts
- Lead annual physical inventory audits
- Analyze slow-moving and obsolete stock
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and drive root cause analysis for variance reduction.
Team & Performance Management
- Directly lead, train and supervise warehouse employees including supervisor, executive, material handlers.
- Conduct performance evaluations, daily task allocations.
- Manage 3PL and monitor performance metrics in SLAs to ensure adherence to the standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in logistics and warehouse performance such as on-time rate, inventory accuracy, LMW audit score, etc.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- 5-8 years in logistics and warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in managerial role in manufacturing companies
- Hands-on experience with LMW license application, customs reporting and audit readiness.
- In-depth and practical knowledge of Malaysian import/export regulations, tax application and exemption, Incoterms, and global logistics.
- Strong people management, coaching and development capabilities.
- Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
Working Conditions & Environment
· Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
· Majority of the work is at Batu Kawan site; work at Kulim site will be requested as needed.
- Visits to warehouses, customs offices, ports, or supplier locations will be requested as needed.
· Occasional travel, to Headquarters in Germany or other regional sites.
