AIXTRON’s new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia
We are building a new greenfield manufacturing and engineering hub in Batu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & test of our high-end systems and will contribute to engineering the next generation of products. Operations are planned to start in 2027 with rapid ramp-up. Responsibilities
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Execute and validate MRP runs in SAP to ensure accurate supply signals based on production plannings, BOM, and current inventory.
- Analyze and resolve MRP exception messages (reschedule, cancel, expedite, defer).
- Generate and release purchase requisitions (PR) to procurement team on a timely basis.
- Calculate safety stock levels, reorder points, and lot sizes for all materials.
- Analyze material usage patterns and forecast errors to improve planning parameters.
- Continuously optimize planning parameters (lead time, lot size, safety stock) based on demand and supply variability.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Actively manage inventory to meet target service levels and inventory turns.
- Drive inventory reduction without impacting service level.
- Identify and execute excess and obsolete (E&O) mitigation actions.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or near-expiry materials and propose disposition plans.
- Lead material-related cycle counting in coordination with warehouse supervisor.
- Own accuracy and governance of material master data (lead time, MOQ, safety stock, MRP type, planning strategy)
Material Shortage Management
- Own material shortage tracking and prioritization.
- Define allocation priorities in case of constrained supply.
- Drive recovery actions with Procurement and Production Planning.
- Communicate clear risk scenarios and mitigation plans.
Production Support & Coordination
- Work with production planning to align material availability with daily/weekly production schedules.
- Escalate potential material shortages to production and operational logistics manager
- Coordinate material kitting or issuance timing with warehouse supervisor.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring ramp-up material readiness.
Supplier & Procurement Liaison
· Provide forecast and call‑off schedules to procurement based on MRP output.
· Monitor supplier delivery performance and escalate issues through Procurement.
· Support Procurement with data for supplier negotiations (lead time, MOQ, forecast stability).
· Review and adjust order quantities for LMW‑related duty‑free materials to maintain customs compliance.
· Participate in supplier review meetings for lead time and Minimal Order Quantity (MOQ) improvements.
LMW & Customs Compliance Support
- Ensure material planning data aligns with LMW bond record requirements (dutiable vs. non‑dutiable).
- Maintain accurate consumption records for import duty exemption claims.
- Support customs audits by providing material movement and usage documentation.
- Ensure zero non-compliance related to bonded inventory and reporting.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years in material planning, production planning, or inventory control within a Malaysian manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of BOM structures, MRP logic, and safety stock calculations.
- Experience with LMW is a strong advantage.
- Proficient in SAP systems and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail,
- Ability to work under pressure, and cross-functional communication.
- Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia.
Working Conditions & Environment
· Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
· Majority of the work is at Batu Kawan site; work at Kulim site will be requested as needed.
