Line Manager: Supplier Quality Manager

 Responsibilities

This role is responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance through audits, supplier development and problem-solving activities. As a hands-on role, the Supplier Quality Engineer acts as the primary quality interface between AIXTRON and its suppliers. 

  • Conduct supplier audits (on-site and remote) as lead auditor, ensuring compliance with AIXTRON standards and industry regulations.
  • Act as the key contact for supplier-related quality issues, leading root cause analysis and ensuring sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support supplier selection decisions by providing quality assessments, risk evaluations and input on supplier capability.
  • Assess and continuously improve supplier processes, workflows and manufacturing capability to ensure stable product quality and delivery performance.
  • Support supplier quality planning activities (e.g. inspection planning, validation, first article inspection) to ensure production readiness.
  • Actively support new product introduction (NPI), ramp-up and supplier transfer projects to secure quality and process stability.
  • Identify supplier quality risks and drive corrective and continuous improvement measures in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Define, agree and track supplier improvement actions and programs to ensure sustainable performance enhancement.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement and Production to align quality requirements and resolve issues.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance based on KPIs and maintain accurate documentation (e.g. audits, action tracking, inspection plans).

 Qualifications and Skills Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Management, or related disciplines.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Supplier Quality Engineering, semiconductor or electronics manufacturing background is preferred.
  • Knowledge of commonly used manufacturing processes and evaluation of defects in components and assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Command of quality tools is required, such as FMEA APQP, 8D,SPC, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality management standards.
  • Structured, analytical, and fact-based mindset with solution-oriented attitude
  • Practical skills to handle multiple tasks/projects with time/priority planning.
  • Willingness to travel domestic and international.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP is preferred.
  • Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia.

 Working Conditions & Environment

·       Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

·       Majority of the work is at Batu Kawan site

  • Visits to supplier locations will be requested as needed.
