About the Role

In this role, you will become part of our IT Cloud & Datacenter team, helping to operate, maintain, and enhance our global datacenter infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on virtualization, backup, storage, monitoring and disaster recovery solutions, while also supporting the evolution of our hybrid cloud landscape. You will work with modern enterprise technologies including VMware vSphere, server hardware and storage platforms, backup and recovery solutions, and selected Microsoft Azure and Entra ID services. Together with experienced colleagues, you will contribute to delivering secure, stable, and high-performing infrastructure services that support AIXTRON's worldwide business operations.

Your challenge

Virtualization

·       Administration of VMware vSphere environments

·       Provisioning and management of virtual machines

·       Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimization

·       Handling VMware lifecycle management, patching and upgrades

·       Support of high availability and cluster environments

 

Storage & Backup

·       Administration of enterprise storage systems

·       Monitoring and management of backup jobs

·       Execution of restore requests and recovery procedures

·       Support and optimization of backup concepts

·       Ensuring backup compliance and data protection standards

 

Disaster Recovery

·       Supporting disaster recovery processes and DR testing

·       Participation in failover and recovery exercises

·       Maintaining recovery documentation and operational procedures

·       Supporting business continuity initiatives

 

Windows Server Administration

·       Management of Windows Server environments

·       Active Directory administration

·       DNS, DHCP and Group Policy management

·       Patch management and security hardening

·       Monitoring and incident resolution

The skills needed

  • 2-4 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration
  • Good knowledge of VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter
  • Experience with Windows Server administration
  • Understanding of backup and recovery concepts
  • Basic storage administration skills
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent English communication skills (C1 level or higher), both written and spoken.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Dell PowerStore or similar SAN solutions
  • Experience with EMC Networker or similar backup platforms
  • Microsoft Azure fundamentals
  • Microsoft Entra ID administration
  • Terraform fundamentals
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Wasabi Cloud Storage
  • Disaster Recovery experience
  • Experience with Monitoring solutions such as PRTG or Zabbix
  • Microsoft certifications are considered an advantage but are not mandatory.
