Your role:

AIXTRON is a world leading manufacturer of semiconductor equipment and the AIXTRON Ltd facility in Cambridgeshire manufactures key MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition) systems for the Group. Our MOCVD systems are used to produce (opto) electronics for 5G, fibre communications, AI, lasers, LEDs for displays and power electronics for electric vehicles and chargers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead global MOCVD systems installations at customer locations, ensuring smooth execution through thorough preparation and planning. Provide daily progress updates, final installation reports, and proactively follow-up with customers, including the resolution of open issues.
  • Perform routine inspections, servicing, troubleshooting and system upgrades on installed MOCVD equipment at customer facilities.
  • Provide remote technical support, offering expert guidance to customers and AIXTRON engineers.
  • Contribute to customer and internal training programs, assisting in the development of regional field service engineers. Responsibilities include creating detailed work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to provide in-depth feedback on current and prototype systems and components, driving product improvements, improved testing  and validation processes and ongoing innovation.
  • Support equipment testing and final system validation at AIXTRON facilities, ensuring all systems meet performance standards ahead of customer acceptance evaluations.
  • Responsible for adhering to standards that AIXTRON Ltd set to ensure safety at work, which includes following procedures, handling machinery and substances correctly, and participating in any safety training required.  You will find the core Health and Safety responsibilities in the Health and Safety System Overview document.

 

Your profile:

  • Degree / HND / HNC (or equivalent) in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Require at least 3 years practical experience with automated systems, in particular with mechanical/electro-mechanical components, electrical circuits, control systems and software.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in vacuum, pneumatic, semiconductor process.
  • Fluent in English. Being able to speak a European language (eg. German) would be an advantage.
  • Able to work independently on site with customers, be adaptable and resourceful at problem solving whilst under pressure.
  • Capable of and interested by learning new technology in a short time.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
