Your challenge
- Product Compliance: Ensure semiconductor manufacturing equipment meets EU Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230), LVD, EMC, and SEMI standards.
- Conformity Assessment: Conduct product conformity assessments following CE, UL, and SEMI safety standards, and comply with regional standards where AIXTRON operates.
- Safety Requirements Management: Allocate and manage safety requirements at system, subsystem, and component level, ensuring traceability and consistency.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct safety risk assessments in line with ISO 12100 and Chemical Risk Assessments for product development and modifications of existing product lines.
- Reaction Analysis: Review and analyse exothermic reactions and explosive substances within chemical kinetics, reaction engineering, and process safety. Manage energy in equipment by assessing reaction enthalpy using thermodynamics and physical chemistry.
- Process Safety Design: Develop safety strategies on interlock requirement for explosive limits and energetic materials, integrating energy management and hazard analysis on used component.
- Validation Testing: Manage, support and conduct validation tests, managing SEMI S2 product conformity documentation.
- Technical Consultation: Contribute to the design of gas mixing system and vacuum system, advising on safety requirements related to piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical diagrams and control systems.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate and coordinate with interdisciplinary engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure inherently safe design
The skills needed
- Education background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Process Safety or a related field, or comparable qualifications.
- Experience: More than 4 years of work experience in process safety, chemical kinetics and thermodynamics.
- Certifications: Process safety or risk management certification is added advantage.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in process safety management by implementing process safety principle to minimize risks associated with chemical handling. Review advanced thermodynamics for energy management and safety assessment.
- Communication: Strong communication skills with confidence in presentations and technical consulting.
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Highly motivated and adaptable team player with a strong analytical mindset and structured working style. Excellent organizational skills and a passion for interdisciplinary engineering projects.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-project environments, thriving under tight deadlines in dynamic settings.
- Team Development: Support the development and growth of the team while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Languages: Fluency in English and/or German
